WOMAN IN THE MIRROR
Lidia Tremblay
June 9, 2011
Who is that old woman staring,
Staring back at me from the mirror?
Lined, sagging,
Deep gray shadows
Hiding the eyes?
Who is she, that stranger, staring,
Staring at me,
As though she
Knows me, hears the
Beating of my heart?
From the deep recesses of memory
I see another face
One I dimly recognize
but do not quite see;
Superimposed,
Same but not the same,
And I wonder, I wonder
When did I become the
Old woman in the mirror?
